
During winter Bansko and the majestic Pirin Mountains attract skiers and snowboarders from around the world, but during the summer they become a paradise for hiking, trekking and walking excursions for all levels. The undiscovered paths, the beautiful glacial lakes, Banderishki Lakes, Chairski Lakes, Kremenski Lakes, Popovo Lake, Samodivski Lakes, Sinanishko Lake, Tipitski Lakes, Valyavishki Lakes and the dense pine and fir forests, the granite mountain peaks make a scenery of unparalleled beauty.
This is the Pirin National Park which belongs to the UNESCO Natural Heritage since 1983 and covers an area of 40300 ectares between the mountains of Rila and Pirin.
The best months for hiking, walking and exploring Bansko and the Pirin Mountains are from June to October, with July and August being the warmest and August and September being the driest months.
